About
Good news ! We're back.
TCOT founders @michaelpleahy and @rneppell have agreed to cede control of TCOT as an organization to a third party, thereby ensuring that TCOT can be guided by an independent group and not be beholden to or controlled by any one (or two) individuals.
Details will be worked out by four TCOT members, two appointed by Leahy and two appointed by Neppell. These four will present their recommendations for Leahy and Neppell to review, modify, and accept.
Stay tuned...

Action Project Policy and ProceduresWe have, to date, undertaken a few small Action Projects which have met with surprisingly quick success. 7. It is the responsiblity of the Project Servant-Leader of each Action Project to make sure that his or her web content administrator creates a page on this site for the Action Project, and that it is accessible via the front page drop down beneath "Action Projects" on the front page menu. 8. It is the responsibility of the Project Servant-Leader to make sure that he or she has a web content administrator assigned to his or her Action Project. Alternatively, the Project Servant-Leader may be trained and authorized to make updates to the Action Project page directly. 9. It is the desired goal that the content of each Action Project page is updated once every 24 hours. It is the responsibility of the Project Servant-Leader to accomplish this goal. I thought I'd leave the message here since I can write more than 140 characters. I personally would love to run for office on a local level and I know others on TCOT have expressed the same thoughts. With all of the talent and experience we have in TCOT it would be nice to have a few mentors, people that are currently or have previously served on city and county seats, to coach and guide us through the process of getting elected.
They could have a Q&A Forum on this website, or possibly a blog that would outline the steps that one needs to take in order to run. This group could also serve as a place to announce candidacies and draw support for TCOT members that do decide to run. Let's put the power of this growing group to work and get conservatives elected at every level of government because the mayors of today may just be the super-hot V.P. candidate of tomorrow. written by Andrew Ian Dodge, December 09, 2008
Get all right of center think tanks (of all types) on Twitter updating regularly so we know what they are up to.

Let me start off with saying that I am so happy that there is a forum for conservatives to chat without being attacked by the crazies that seem to think that conservative means "hate."
That being said, I'm poking around here and thinking... wow... there sure are a lot of rules. I have some thoughts about the 10 Things You Can Do list, specifically. I love #5: Do something nice for someone on the list. I think it begs to be explained with one more line: "Retweet and credit" other TCOT members' links or comments. Retweeting is a great way to gain new followers and to build community within TCOT. 3 - Putting a hashtag at the END of the tweet just looks better. Too many @ names and # make the message hard to see if you are going through a rather large tweet stream. Putting it within the message or at the end is just easier on the eyes and puts the focus on the message to a broader audience before being turned off with something they think is not meant for them. 6 - I don't always follow everyone back and I sometimes want to let those that I personally follow NOT to follow me back. I tweet a lot and would hate to bother someone that I want to follow because they have great info. On the other side, I like to follow those that entertain and educate me. I tend to stay away from "angry" tweeters and people that only tweet about what they are going to eat. I think following back is nice, but not necessary, and certainly not a negative statement against the unfollowed. 7 - The following ratio. Wow... don't even know what to say. I can just picture some poor kid with his calculator making sure that he doesn't upset the ratio. Again, the follow and follow back "rules" should really be personal. Whew... you'd think I didn't have any opinions. written by Lloyd Duhon, December 13, 2008
I'm really excited about Operation #TCOT Wiki. I'm honored to be the PS-L.
This operation will provide a location for collaboration just outside of, and supported by all of our tweets on Twitter. By combining a forum, a wiki, and google docs functions, we will be able to expand our projects in new ways. We will make our efforts more powerful and directed. If any PS-L needs additional support of a collaborative tool, DM me, they go right to my phone. I'll help out immediately. If anyone has a question about how they can use these tools effectively, contact me, I'm here to help. written by Alan Herrington, December 19, 2008
Has anyone suggested the idea of creating TCOT sub-groups that are focused on states or even down to Congressional Districts? It seems to me it would be very beneficial for the GOP to have Twitter communication networks in place that can quickly spread news/ideas that are specific to these geographic groupings.

Can't figure out how to access the Action Projects. Thought for sure that I submitted one a while ago, but it's not listed. I know I'm in there somewhere, but can't find what to click on. Help?

I would really like to see us mobilized on a daily basis focusing on at least one thing. Yes, while I might do a dozen or more things per day to make progress for Conservatives, I make little impact if I do it alone. It makes sense that we have a Daily Action Alert...we can then choose to participate or not, but how awesome would it be that we collectively take action and make people take notice?!
I can see this Action Alert being timely in that if a breaking news story relates to, or against, our causes, the time to act is now -- not tomorrow, and not the next day. It would be great if tcot's can submit ideas for action alerts so that we are not only participants, but have input as well. And, this is a good way to get everyone involved...keep us from being overwhelmed on a daily basis thinking that we can make little inroads by ourselves. written by action games, January 28, 2010
I was called by many of the game producer and got mail also for some action projects. The common thing is putting it within the message or at the end is just easier on the eyes and puts the focus on the message to a broader audience before being turned off with something they think is not meant for them.

I agreed with them and I also tend to stay away from "angry" tweeters and people that only tweet about what they are going to eat. I think following back is nice, but not necessary, and certainly not a negative statement against the unfollowed.
